What turned into the title piece for the show.  The phrase, slightly altered, comes from a William James lecture called "Pragmatism and Humanism."  The image is from an iconic still taken by Craig Fineman of my father, refurnished and refurbished.

These were the initial pieces that got the ball rolling on this whole collection of drawings.  They are action shot frame grabs from a one wave sequence of my uncle, Duncan, culled from old super 8 footage and expanded upon / altered.
